Oriflame celebrated 50 years globally in 2017, but it was only 10years ago that the Founders’ dream to introduce it to East Africa came true. Oriflame began in Kenya and expanded into Uganda and Tanzania and even getting to a few members of other countries in the region. From inception, the Oriflame founders endeavoured to change lives in the world and this formed the basis of the company’s values.
With the unique business model of network marketing, the company enables each person to join the business with minimal investment/risk and build their business through networking and selling high quality products.
Nairobi, 1st March 2018: On this day, Oriflame marked its 10th year anniversary in East Africa in such great pomp and style during the annual Director’s Seminar which was held at Radisson Blu hotel and Gala dinner at Carnivore Restaurant Nairobi. It had at least 250 participants present from all over East Africa and beyond. This is the biggest 2- day annual local event of the company which hosts top leaders in the business, award them with a regional travel, luxurious stay at a high-end hotel and great recognitions.
Welcome dinner
The guests were received at Radisson Blu with excitement and dancing as they checked in. In a few hours, we set out to paint the town green as we walked to Uhuru Park for a tree planting session. The tree planting was symbolic to our natural products and love for a safe and clean environment. We planted a total of 10 trees to represent our 10 years of existence in the region. Soon we were done and headed back to the hotel.
The same evening we assembled for the main event of the day which was the Welcome Dinner party themed Swedish, our motherland. The room was filled with beautiful tones of blue and yellow which represented the Swedish flag We were pleased to have a special guest, the Deputy Swedish ambassador who introduced himself and said he was happy to feel like he was back at home. The most exciting part was when the destination for one of our international conferences 2019 was officially announced to be in Sweden. We really can’t wait!
Business day
An eventful day where all the leaders came expectant for knowledge. We shared the previous year’s business progress and discussed various techniques to implement in order to improve the business. Ultimately, it’s a day to recognize the best leaders in various categories.
We also launched exciting things like the destination for next year’s Director’s Seminar-Zanzibar, our new skin care sets which will come within the year and also our brand new Digital App –Skin Expert. We also had a special guest present, the Vice President and Head of Africa Amir Mortazavi, who gave a great talk on leadership development and the journey of success
Gala Dinner
This is usually the highlight of the seminar. It was a fairytale theme of white and gold, the entrance was a beautiful dome which had historical pictures of the 10 year journey. Everyone then sat down and enjoyed some special entertainment from Sarakasi dancers just before the lovely treat of Game meat from carnivore restaurant. A short speech from our MD followed as he introduced the Swedish ambassador who was present and opened the floor to various special recognitions for the movers and shakers in the business in 2017 and a spectacular moment for those who have been in the Oriflame business for 10 the last years!
Congratulations to all who participated in this year’s Director’s Seminar, we had a lot of fun and can’t help but look forward to next year’s.
